All configurations are listed in the table below. The Keychron K12 is a 60 layout (61-key) non-backlight aluminum frame wireless mechanical keyboard engineered for Mac and Windows. The default switch types available for this keyboard include clicky, tactile, and linear versions of both Gateron G Pro switches or Keychron Mechanical switches, depending on what configuration you choose. Together with reinforced aluminum frame make sure the K7 is durable enough and one of the thinnest wireless mechanical keyboards. Keychron recommends using either Karabiner or Sharpkeys for key remapping with macOS and Windows, respectively.


The Keychron K14 we tested has Gateron G Pro Brown switches, an aluminum frame, and full RGB backlighting, but there are several other configurations available, including versions with or without the aluminum frame, backlighting, and hot-swappable switches. The low-profile Keychron Optical switches on the K7 are 40 slimmer than conventional switches, and still offer an amazing mechanical keyboard tactile response. The Keychron C1 has a switch that toggles between Windows/Android and macOS/iPadOS, but It has no companion software for programming keys.
